For the first time Central Government interfered on Hyderabad Metro Rail Project after L&T letter to the Telangana Government. Minister of Urban Development has issued Gazette on Hyderabad Metro Rail project. Venkaiah Naidu stated that Centre can advise on Metro if Telangana Government asked us for suggestion. Telangana Chief Secretary Rajiv Sarma went to New Delhi and discussed with Home Ministry and PMO officials on Metro Rail. Both were felt that HYD Metro went on smoothly. As per the Gazette, it can’t possible for Telangana Government to alter the changes in its first stage of the Metro. Ministry of Urban Development issued Gazette notification on Corridor 1, Corridor 2, and Corridor 3 of the Metro Rail Project. It’s necessary to take Central Government permission to make any changes on Metro Project. Further, Parliament approval is inevitable for altering the alignment changes regarding the Metro. Telangana Chief Minister KCR stated in Assembly that historical places in Hyderabad need not disturbed with Metro Rail. He asked the L&T officials to construct underground rail route before the Assembly and Sulthan Bazar. Now, KCR should go to Central Government for getting approval for underground rail.
