Well, this is definitely a bad news to the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The special status application appealed by these two states are almost in rejection phase. It seems the file that has been sent is still pending in PM office and is waiting for the approval.  According to sources of Planning Commission, there may not be any kind of special status granted. The actual eligibility criteria as per the Ministry of Planning "  “Hilly and difficult terrain, low population density or good number of tribal population, strategic location along borders with neighboring countries, economic and infrastructural backwardness and nonviable nature of state finances.” So, there may not be a special status rewarded keeping this criteria into consideration, but the tax benefits may be given to the two states till ten years and so this can help the development and infrastructure grow at  rapid phase.   “Instead of AP Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu overemphasizing on building a grand new capital and Telangana CM KCR focusing on skyscrapers, they must now shift their focus on infrastructure development which would attract investors,” said MV Rajeswar Rao, the Former Secretary General of Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry. So, what do you think if the Centre will not give any special status to the two states? What will be the situation?
