Bharatiya Janata Party is staring at a big defeat in Gujarat Local Body Elections. The saffron party was winning Gujarat for 20 years but it is an up-hill task for the party there. This is due to the significant Patels caste working against BJP in the state. Reports are emerging that Patels are in revenge mode on BJP and is joining Congress now.

Hardik Patel's agitation for reservations to Patels also worked against BJP government there. The results of Gujarat Muncipal elections will be out on December 4th and that will end BJP's supremacy in the state. BJP's position is so bad that it did not put up a single candidate in eight minority-dominated seats in the 36-member Viramgam municipality.

Incidentally, Gujarat is the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah and so a defeat will embarass them very much. The defeat will be even worse than of the defeats in Delhi and Bihar. There are rumours that Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel may be made scapegoat if the election is lost.
