As the political heat gets hotter even before the formal start of campaign for GHMC polls, here’s one strong move which could come to the aid of TRS party headed by KCR which is keen to adopt Late YS Rajashekar Reddy’s success formula to GHMC elections.
YSR and also Congress have always used MIM
YSR and also Congress have always used MIM as shortcut for electoral success there. Congress and MIM engaged in friendly fight before the elections and contested independently. Congress will then field weak candidates in MIM seats which ensures that Congress votes doesn’t go to other parties.
MIM then used to gain good number of seats and supported Congress after the elections. There was no pre-poll alliance so that Hindu votes do not get polarized to BJP. KCR is now reportedly planning to adopt a similar formula for conquering Hyderabad Mayor seat.
TRS and MIM confrontation started now in the form of Metro Rail re-alignment issues. GHMC elections will be over by end of January and at the same time TRS is completely reliant on fence sitters to extract mileage for GHMC polls.
