TASMAC is always a threat to people of Tamil Nadu. Lots of school Children and working class people spoil themselves by drinking liquor. Tamil Nadu Government themselves provides the liquor at low cost and they also keep the TASMAC shops at every corner.
Lots of people are fighting to close TASMAC. But Chief Minister Jayalalitha is so adamant not to close it. She is ignoring all the requests from the Public and other political parties. In this case, Singer Kovan recently sang a song 'Moodu Tasmac-ai Moodu'. 'Tasmac-ai Moodu' means 'Close the Tasmac'.
As he sang that he was arrested by Tamil Nadu police and he was granted bail by Madras High Court. Immediately Tamil Nadu government sought two day police custody for the singer.
As per their report, the 54 year old Kovan has made some 'defamatory' statement against Jayalalitha and he was disturbing public peace. Already high court said he can't be kept inside custody. Now the same verdict was with held by Supreme court. So Kovan can be free right now.
