Telangana CM KCR and his cabinet ministers may boast that they are providing corrupt free administration and poor are benefiting from the various development programs launched by them.
They may give the example of Warangal elections in which its party candidate decimated the opposition leaving them badly bruised.However it is coming out that government officials have siphoned crores of public funds meant for social security pensions for the poor.
Panchayat raj department which conducted the social audit found out that on an average 2,000 government employees in each district were claiming pension of Rs 1,000 per month on the name of their famil ymembers.
According to rules family members of government employees are not eligible for social welfare pensions. Much to the shock of all evenretired government employees were found claiming pensions.In CM KCR's own district Medak, family members of about 2,970government employees were claiming pensions.
These irregularities came out when adhar card and health card were linked with the employees details. Same is the case with Nizamabad, Karimangar andRanga Reddy districts. More than 3.50crs were siphoned since lastNovember after TRS increased pension from Rs 200 to Rs 1000.
