Time passes by fast and it is more than one month since Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu got the foundation stone laid for new capital Amaravati. The foundation ceremony held with lots of hype as KCR and Narendra Modi attended it.
Naidu showed the mettle by spending billions. But after that glam and glitzy ceremony there has been no progress on the construction. There were lots of expectations and so far nothing has happened. Earlier it was said few designers from Singapore have made the master plan.
But the layouts was not shown to public and not even a sing brick was constructed. The first phase of the capital city should be completed by 2017. But on seeing the zero progress, chances are slim.
A source said, "Unless the construction of buildings starts now, it is impossible to start functioning from Amaravati even by 2017. Otherwise, the government has to operate only from Vijayawada." Another source said Naidu Government faces lots of financial crisis regarding the capital infrastructure.
