Due to the deluge which took place in Tamil Nadu during first week of December, the whole state went upside down. Bus services were made Free. Toll gates never collected charges for vehicles passing by.
The whole city was under devastation mode. But now the rains have stopped and the city has turned back to normalcy. The floods waters were also drained completely. The vehicles which were repaired due to the floods were now back to normal and the traffic is back again.
Right now, everyone can be seen without helmets. A shocking report said, 92% of two-wheelers are riding without any helmets. So far Police also never bothered. But now the screws are tightened for helmets. Police have started the hunt for 'Helmet' cases.
Every nook and corner of Chennai is with Traffic police. When we buzzed our source, they replied us, "This is not just in Chennai. This hunt is happening in Coimbatore, Trichy, Salem and Tirunelveli. The people without helmet are fined Rs.100. When they repeat it their license gets cancelled."
