Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi is all set to meet Tamil Nadu Congress leaders and DMK party chief with respect to alliance in upcoming assembly elections. Congress recently lost momentum in down south.

Recently during GHMC polls, it was confessed that Congress is not even having proper candidates. The same is happening in state of Tamil Nadu. During last Lok Sabha elections, Congress contested on its own and it got zero seats. At the same time, DMK just bagged five seats.

The whole Assembly strength in the state is 234. Already there was a buzz that DMK will have alliance with Congress. Now as Rahul Gandhi is meeting DMK Chief, talks are on that they may have an alliance. Mr.Ilangovan refused to speak more about the alliance. Rahul Gandhi also consulted with former ministers and Tamil Nadu Congress party leaders.

It should be recalled that, last month DMK Chief M.Karunanidhi said Congress would be invited to join the alliance led by his outfit for the upcoming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. M.Karunanidhi also invited DMDK Chief Vijayakanth to keep alliance with their party.
