Andhra Pradesh State Assembly is facing more ugly incidents these days. Recently there has been verbal abuse between Telugu Desam Party legislators and YSR Congress party members. This abuse lead to YSRCP MLA RK Roja suspension for one year. She used profane words.
However there have been support for her from inside the party. But speaker said she was suspended so that it would be a lesson for others. Now the big question is, can these ugly incidents be avoided ?
Yes they are avoidable if the members maintain dignity and decorum in the house. Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao came with a strange suggestion. It is to ban the live telecast of the Assembly proceedings. MLA's are crossing their limits and the only way to stop them is to project them as hero is the live telecast of the proceedings.
Media also makes the issue big by repeatedly telecasting those scenes. They look for ratings. The telecast of the proceedings was introduced only to make the people know how their elected representatives are bringing their issues to the notice of the government.
