As of now it is touted that there will be an alliance between AIADMK and BJP for the upcoming assembly elections. Now TNCC Chief EVKS Elangovan has invited DMDK Chief Vijayakanth to have an alliance with Congress.

He said, "DMDK should be part of the secular forces that are trying to unseat AIADMK regime which is anti-people and highly corrupt." Congress which is down and under in Tamil Nadu is already facing hassles within the part. To strengthen the base, they are seeking help of DMDK leader Vijayakanth.

Elangovan also said, all secular forces were his party's allies. He further said, "The Popularity of Congress has gone up in Tamil Nadu and we are ready to contest alone in all 234 assembly constituencies. But we need allies to dislodge this government. But the final call will be made by Congress high command.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi is keen to contest alone. DMK alliance is also on cards. I really want this government to go in the interests of people's welfare. The recent floods in Chennai and Cuddalore are a good lesson for people not to vote for ADMK party."
