Senior IAS Officer Sagayam has landed in another controversy as he commented regarding Police torture after watching Award winning Tamil movie 'Visaranai'. The movie released today worldwide and preview shows were held for prominent celebrities and Sagayam is one among them.
Sagayam's comments appeared in today's daily along with his photograph. The movie is produced by Dhanush and it was directed by Vetri Maaran. Movie deals with corruption inside Police department and how police uses their brutal force to shape innocents as accused and so on.
The concept of the movie is all about framing an individual into a theft case. The movie is based on a Novel named 'Lock Up' by M.Chandra Kumar. The author was an Auto-rickshaw driver from Coimbatore who suffered police brutality in real.
The movie was premiered at the 72nd Venice film fest and won the Amnesty International Italia Award.Sagayam would not have intended to say that. But his words were definitely taken on wrong note. He never apologized for his words too.
