Yesterday we reported about the Audi Sedan which was speeding on wrong side of Anna Salai killed a biker. The biker was 25 years old and he worked as a waiter. The accused were reported as Mohammad Shafiq (31) and Mohammed Farook (39). Both are leather traders and they are originally from Erode.


They said that they are not familiar with the arrangements of Chennai Traffic police to allow Metro Rail work progress. But Police official said, "Car was moving at a speed of more than 120 Kmph and it was not possible to control the vehicle at that speed.


The impact was so great that it flung Raj's body onto fencing for metro rail work near the Anna Salai-Binny Road junction. When we reached the spot, both were trapped inside the ar. The emergency air bags which was deployed saved them. We freed them and arrested them.


A case was registered under IPC Section 304 (II) (culpable homicide not amounting to murder). Even though Safiq was at the driver's seat, charge was pushed on Farook as he was also drunk. The Car number was TN 28 AR 8400 and Motorcycle number was TN 05 AF 6381.
