Recently a new salary package is proposed for the legislators at the AP assembly and once the approval has come from the government the MLA’s and MLC’s in Andhra Pradesh will get a monthly salary of 2 Lakhs and the amenities team was headed by the speaker K. Sivaprasada Rao.


It was proposed a basic salary of 1.50 Lakhs as against the present of 90,000. The HRA was increased from Rs.25,000 to Rs. 50,000. Last week the Telangana government has proposed a salary of 1.25 Lakhs to 3.50 Lakhs per month.


Ten days ago the Finance Minister Yanamala was questioned in the assembly and he has ruled out the possibility of increase in salaries for MLA’s and MLC’s. The car loan to legislators was also increased from Rs. 15 Lakhs to Rs. 40 Lakhs.  The car loan is available at the interest of four percent as the state government will bear the interest subsidy. The committee has also recommended Rs. 50,000 pension, an increase of Rs. 25,000 to the kith and kin of the deceased members.


The committee has recommended the increase after taking the inflation and the cost of all products and services into consideration. Even health insurance has been proposed to all the members of the state assembly and the council. The legislators will also get daily allowance, constituency allowance and office expenditure allowance, provision for travel, accommodation, crockery and each legislator will get approximately 3.50 Lakhs per month.
