The Congress party which fought all odds and also risked its
presence in Andhra Pradesh to grant Telangana is all set to be decimated
in Telangana as well. The party won 21 seats in the 2014 Assembly
elections. One MLA passed away recently. And now things are looking
bleak.
The demise of one MLA reduces the number
to 20. TRS wants to wrest Paleru Assembly now from Congress in Khammam.
It already won over Narayankhed in Medak. Congress is down to 19.
Already 7 MLA’s have crossed over, reducing the count now for Congress to 12.
If
the party loses two more MLA’s which looks very likely, then it will be
losing the status of main opposition in Telangana, giving unchallenged
position to the TRS. Alarm bells have already started ringing in Delhi.
But it appears none is able to find a way out of the crisis.
The
danger is more if at least six more leaders take a plunge from Congress
into TRS. The way becomes clear for merger of Telangana Congress into
TRS, just like TDP. Anyway, YSRCP unit of Telangana is expected to merge
in a week’s time! Operation Akarsha is working really well for KCR
