It is known news that the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs,
Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary while speaking to the media at the
Parliament has revealed that central government feels there is no need
for any Special Status to Andhra Pradesh. This has sent shockwaves in
AP.
He again reminded how 14th Finance
Commission hasn’t recommended Special Status to any new state apart from
the existing ones. He added that Center is already helping Andhra
Pradesh with special assistance and some tax incentives. It must be said
that this is quite a paltry support.
The
minister stated that Center is committed to duly reimburse the revenue
deficit of the state for the first year as assured by the 14th Finance
Commission. Well this being the stance of BJP led Central government, it
is important to see what our netas are going to do.
Already
Pawan Kalyan who is speculated to be BJP’s face soon in Andhra Pradesh
is now in the dock. He once reacted that he will show his reaction if
BJP declines special status for Andhra Pradesh. Now that BJP has stated,
PK got into action with his set of tweets. Will it end here or will he
start a new movement remains to be seen.
