The Telangana Rashtra Samithi has bagged another assembly seat by winning Paleru by poll and the TRS candidate Tummala Nageswar Rao has won the prestigious assembly seat in Khammam district against the Congress candidate Sucharita Ramreddy by an overwhelming margin of 45,676 votes.

The poll truimph is remarkable for the ruling TRS since the party had polled just 4,600 votes in Paleru 2014 elections. The win also reinforced the party's strength in Khamam district where the TRS was never been a force to reckon with.

The chief minister Chandrasekhar Rao has said Paleru result was people's endorsement for his two year old governance in Telangana and the Pelaru election win is a clear endorsement to their two year rule and the back to back victories has shown that the people are firmly backing them.

The ruling party has registered a resounding victory in the elections held for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in February by bagging as many as 99 seats the 150 member council.
