It is known that the high-level meeting which was convened by the Union water resources ministry for resolving the stalemate between the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh regarding the role of Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) hasn’t arrived at an amicable solution.

Krishna River Management Board

The meeting was chaired by special secretary Amarjit Singh which discussed this issue for about a marathon seven hours and there was no concrete decision reached. Irrigation secretaries as well as senior officials of the two states were also seen in the marathon meeting.

With both the states sticking to their guns, the Centre has expressed its helplessness and again asked the officials to attend one more round of meeting. The Andhra Pradesh government made things quite clear that it will be moving the Apex Council that is headed by Union water resources minister Uma Bharati.

Uma and Harish Rao

Today as part of further deliberations, immediately Andhra Pradesh and Telangana’s water resources minister Devineni Uma and Harish Rao have left for New Delhi. The matter of concern is, how and what is going to be the outcome of this war. Incidentally, former CM Kiran Kumar had predicted that this is going to be a big issue.
