Sources have stated that ever since Nara Chandrababu Naidu took over the reigns as Andhra Pradesh's chief minister, his major dream has been the construction of Amaravati as a smart capital that is on par with most advanced capital cities in the world.

Currently the Chandrababu's team has reportedly come up with a proposal to build a City Square in Vijayawada center, much on the lines of most European cities, which is to be built in across 25 acres of land specifically allotted by the state government and the City Square will feature world class facilities.

It is also stated that the City Square will boast of spacious convention centers, exhibition centers, children parks, gaming zone and many other amenities and also an iconic tower will be built at the centre of the square.

It is added that to make way for the construction of the City Square, the existing PWD grounds, Rythu Bazaar and some part of the government offices and the State guesthouse will be demolished, no wonder, once the square is built, it will be a major tourist attraction to the city.
