Veertha Bharthi was Bengaluru's first female cab driver and she was known to many from IT capital. She took her own life soon after her live in relationship ended in break up. The celebrated woman cab driver is an active member of LGBT community and she has taken this extreme step after her live-in partner, a transgender broke up.


Veertha Bharthi (39) was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her residencein Nagashetty Halli. She is also an activist associated with an NGO working for the upliftment of LGBT communities.


People at NGO who worked with Bharathi were aware of her relationship and they said they have already witnessed the couple getting violent with each other. The transgender has abused Bharathi both physically and verbally. A friend of Bharathi said, "They have been in a relationship for several years, and we have seen the transgender becoming physically abusive towards Bharathi.


Even last week some incidents of Physical abuse happened." Bharathi has shared to her friends that the transgender is not faithful to her. The post-mortem was conducted at M.S. Ramaiah Hospital
