Temporary secretariat will be inaugurated today afternoon at Velagapudi, Amaravathi. SP.Thakkar, chief secretary of AP government will inaugurate the temporary secretariat at 2.59 PM. Higher officials decided to start the operations of three departments in the beginning.
As such Panchayat Raj, Construction, Health and Medical departments shifted to Velagapudi. It is known that already AP government staff shifted from Hyderabad to Velagapudi in five buses. Couple of months back in April, AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu inaugurated the secretariat in Velagapudi before Krishna pushkarams.
CM Chandra Babu to convince government staff to shift to Velagapudi from Hyderabad gave many concessions like five day week and also declared 30% HRA. He also promised to solve the non permanent status for the children of the employees.
Government decided inaugurate the interim secretariat at Velagapudi in capital region though the construction work is yet to be completed. Four rooms located in the fifth block will start functioning officially.
Chandra Babu earlier set deadline of June 27th for all staff to start functioning from government offices at Velagapudi,Vijayawada and Guntur. However in between rains delayed the construction of the secretariat.
