Hyderabad sources have stated that anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths on Wednesday has filed a charge sheet in the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences' Rs 3.14 crore medical equipment purchase fraud case against five persons, including its former director A Dharma Rakshak.

It is stated that ACB had registered a case against former Nims director Dharma Rakshak and others under the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in November 2015 for flouting tender norms while awarding medical equipment supply contracts in 2012.

Meanwhile in the charge sheet filed before the special judge for ACB and SPE cases, the ACB sleuths alleged that Dharma Rakshak, Mukund Reddy and Sridhar had flouted tender norms to supply operation theatre tables, OT lights and ventilators, causing Rs 3.14 crore loss to the exchequer.

Similarly, the contract for 10 ventilators of the 91 purchased was given to Shillar Healthcare India Private Ltd for Rs 95.68 lakh when Bet Medical Pvt Ltd placed a bid to supply them for Rs 66 lakh.
