Insiders reveal that Intelligence agencies sent tip offs a few weeks back to the SPG and anti terrorunits that various terror organisations are coordinating to launch attack on PM Modi during his Independence Day speech on Aug 15. It is known that Modi in a last minute decision surprised all by ignoring all intelligence inputs to stay away from the bulletproof enclosure while delivering his speech.
Senior officer hoped that Modi will not ignore their signals this time around as the situation is extremely grave. He said it wasnot due to Kashmir unrest or increasing infiltration attempts but intelligence agencies intercepted various communications and found that terrorists are planning to use drones to breach PM security.
ISIS growth is also a cause for concern. Police after these inputs decided to have unprecedented security arrangement this time. Around 5,000 men of SPG, IB, paramilitary forces and Delhi Police had secured the area covering Red Fort alone, and drones were monitoring from the sky.
