AP Cabinet meets on special package
AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu and his cabinet ministers held discussions for the first time over special status  after Union Government announced special package to the state much to the shock of all as many were expecting special status. Cabinet meet discussed the pros and cons of the special package and under what compulsions the government accepted the package in lieu of the special status. 


Jagan takes on AP CM on special status
Leader of the opposition YSRCP president, Jagan Mohan Reeddy speaking at Yuvabheri in Eluru attacked AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu. He said Chandra Babu is silent on special status to save his skin in  Cash for vote scam case. He said lives of five crore people in the state particularly the youth of AP are depending on special status that can compensate the losses incurred during the bifurcation. 


Inter-state red sanders smuggler nabbed
Red Sanders Anti Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) in ongoing operations arrested a notorious interstate smuggler – Guna Sekhar alias Guna alias Madarapakkam Guna -- near Lakshmipuram circle on Tiruchanur road.  RSASTF head and DIG M. Kantha Rao said  the smuggler  have connections with smugglers, both in the country and abroad. 


YSRCP demands disqualification of defectors
YSRCP spokesperson Ambati Rambabu demanded disqualification of YSRCP legislators who defected to the ruling TDP. Rambabu citing Hyderabad High Court directive to Telangana speaker,. said “Though the direction of the court is applicable to the Telangana Assembly Speaker, it is the moral obligation of the Chief Minister and the Speaker to take action on the petitions seeking disqualification of the rebel MLAs,” 


Heavy rains lash AP
Andhra Pradesh witnessed heavy rains lash across the state crippling life.Districts of Guntur, Kurnool and Kakinata witnessed heavy rains completely bringing life to a standstill. Guntur district was battered by incessant rain, with Chilakaluripet, Gurazala, Narsaraopet, Piduguralla, Sattenapalli and Tenali towns and their surrounding areas reeling under downpour.Kurnool city, Mahanandi and other towns in the district received heavy rain during the last 24 hours. Most parts of the East Godavari district received rain, causing a rise in the water level of the Dowleswaram barrage to10.8 feet and resulting in release of nearly two lakh cusecs into the sea.

KCR demands aid from centre for Roads
Hyderabadis are turning furious on the pathetic condition of roads and despite repeated warnings from KTR, GHMC officials are shocking with their attitude. In the meantime CM KCR asked Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to sanction Rs 300 crore for providing road connectivity to people living near forest areas abutting Godavari and Pranahitha rivers and Adilabad and Karimnagar districts in Telangana.MPs K Keshavarao, Jithender Reddy, B Vinod Kumar, Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Sharma, Principal Secretary Narsing Rao accompanied KCR during the meeting. 


Yellendu trifuctation opposed
Yellendu, the coal town of Telangana observed bandh opposing the trifurcation of Yellendu Assembly constituency. Opposition sponsored bandh was supported by various adivasi, student and other organisations. Almost all shops and business establishments remained closed as the traders downed shutters in response to the bandh call. Protesters tookout rally and started a dharna  near the bus stand opposing the move to merge the mineral-rich Bayyarm and Garla mandals with the soon-to-be carved out Mahabubabad district.


Ulema against Uniform Civil Code
Islamic scholars and Muslim leaders based in Hyderabad will be launching a nationwide mass movement against the Uniform Civil Code proposed by the Centre.Seerat-un-Nabi Academy bas3ed in Hyderabad  is leading the initiative to build a mass movement to exert pressure on the Centre to stop it from intervening into the Muslim Personal Law.


Hyderabad doctor arrested for leak of EAMCET paper
CID arrested five persons including Dr.Kota Gangadhar Reddy,an orthopaedic from Chittoor practising in Madinaguda, Hyderabad  in connection with the Eamcet-2 exam paper leak case. Pallam Venkata Dass, J Ramakoteswara Rao, associated with a distance education study centre in Krishna district of AP; Mohammed Abdul Rahaman Ali and Khaja Mo-izuddin, both from Nalgonda district were also arrested by CID. 


Kingfisher official imprisoned in cheque bounce cases
Third Special Court Magistrate M Krishna Rao in Hyderabad sentenced A Raghunathan, former CFO of Kingfisher Airlines Ltd, to 18 months imprisonment in connection with two cheque bounce cases filed against him and businessman Vijay Mallya by GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. A fine of Rs 20000 was also mposed in each case on Raghunathan after the latter appeared before the court.
