Indian government led by PM Modi made a huge tactical shift in its strategy vis a vis Pakistan and how it handles cross border terrorism. Instead of following strategic restraint like previous governments despite all terror attacks killing many in the country, like Parliament Attack, Kargil War, 26/11 Mumbai attacks, Pathankot and more recently Uri, Government headed by PM Modi, gave green signal for the army to strike with full vigor.
India yesterday announced that it carried out surgical strikes inside Pakistan in the daring early morning act destroying 7 terrorist bases and killing around 50 terrorists. People of India and even all political parties celebrated Indai's response while Pakistan got huge shock. This is for the first time after 1971, India crossed LOC but Modi's cabinet ministers say when POK is intergral part of India, how does it amount to crossing LOC.
Inside talk is PM Modi gave green signal to Army to prepare for all out attack in what ever form with in minutes of Uri attack. Army bid its time, and conducted training for surgical strikes during these ten days and then accomplished the mission with utmost precision and perfection. DGMO Lt General Ranbir Singh informed very specific and credible information that some terrorist units had positioned themselves to infiltrate" into India.
According to the Army sources the operation lasted from 12.30 am to 4.30 am, with the location being 500 metres to 2 km from the LoC on the Pakistani side,with ALH Dhruv choppers para dropping commandos of the army special forces.
The surgical strikes were recorded on cameras with drones also recording footage and 2 Indian soldiers were injured from landmines during the surgical strikes. The entire operation was monitored through the night by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, NSA Ajit Doval, Army Chief General DS Suhag and other top officials from the Army headquarters in Delhi.
Sources reveal Chief of Army Staff Gen Dalbir Singh himself was in the operations room on Wednesday night as Special Forces Para Commandos from the 4th and 9th Battalions of the Northern Command prepared for the assault that was launched around midnight. The operation concluded around 4.30 Thursday morning.
Army commandos struck at seven terrorist launch pads around 2km to 3km inside Pakistan territory -- across the LoC in the Poonch and Kupwara sectors. Indians are now delighted that finally Pakistan got taste of its own medicine and Army announced that it will respond in similar fashion in future too if needed. Right after the surgical strikes not only people but also BSF jawans danced with joy.
