1.HRD Ministry rejects RTI plea for sharing report on Rohit Vemula’s death.The Human Resource Development Ministry has rejected an RTI appeal for making public a panel’s report on the death of research scholar Rohith Vemula in University of Hyderabad.Replying to an RTI query, the ministry had said that the file concerned was “under submission” and a copy of the report cannot be provided.Aggrieved at the response, an appeal was filed with the First Appellate Authority of the ministry.
2.Dilsukhnagar blast convicts to go to Delhi.An NIA team from Delhi will take the Dilsukhnagar blast convicts including Yasin Bhatkal to Delhi and Mumbai on transit warrants to investigate terror cases in those cities.TS prisons’ officials said that they had received intimation from the NIA about the transit.
3.Hyderabad minorities units’ work poor: AK Khan. TS government adviser on minorities affairs A.K. Khan on Saturday admitted that there was lack of accountability in the minority welfare department.Mr Khan said the department had 11 institutions. “Except the Haj Committee and residential schools, the other units have to be upgraded and work should be audited,”  Mr Khan told mediapersons at a ‘Meet the Press’ programme organized by the Hyderabad Union of Working Journal-ists.
4.Discovery of Bhimbetka caves gave breakthrough.The study of rock art became popular in India after the discovery of the prehistoric Bhimbetka group of 700 rock shelters including 400 paintings, 45 kms from Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, said Mr S.S. Rangacharulu, a retired senior official of Telangana state archaeology and museums department
5.Hyderabad HC refuses time for lifer out of jail for 16 months.The Hyderabad High Court has refused to direct the Telangana state government to extend the parole of Mohammed Irfan Ali, who had been sentenced to life for the murder of M.A. Khadeer, deputy secretary of the erstwhile AP State Wakf Board.
6.Nagam Janardhan Reddy steals BJP thunder.: The BJP state executive on Saturday discussed the issue of party legislators not defending the government at the Centre when Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao criticised it.
7.Telangana: 50 per cent of revenue loss to be factored into Budget.The TS government has directed all departments to send Budget proposals for the 2017-18 financial year keeping in view the expected shortfall of revenue due to demonetisation and the Goods & Service Tax to be implemented from July 2017.
8.SC liquor sale verdict: Telangana government tries to let off star hotels.The state government is examining ways to exempt star hotels and  prominent clubs in the city from the Supreme Court ban on sale and serving of  liquor within 500 metres of state and national highways.Hotel and club managements have urged the government to come to their rescue on the ground that they are located in core areas and cannot be termed as located near highways.
9.Hyderabad: Probe into suspect’s ISIS links.A day after his deportation from Saudi Arabia, police is investigating if Syed Zakir Raheem, who was declared a fugitive in the case regarding the conspiracy to kill BJP leaders, has ISIS connections. Police said they are investigating if Raheem tried to recruit anybody for the ISIS. 
10.Chandrashekar Rao wants NEET held in Urdu also. Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has urged the Centre to ensure that NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is conducted in Urdu as well.In a letter written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, he pointed out that there were many students studying in Urdu medium in the state.
11.Transparent LPG cylinders soon; higher price delays scheme’s launch.The introduction of transparent LPG cylinders to check pilferage is likely in Telangana state in the new financial year, 2017-18. Oil marketing companies (OMCs) are devising plans to do the marketing in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts first as a pilot project before extending the scheme to other areas.


Andhra Pradesh
1.Andhra train mishap: Bodies of 18 victims identified.: Bodies of at least 18 victims have been identified by railway officials so far in the Bhubaneswar-bound Hirakhand Express derailment near Kuneru railway station in Vizianagaram district, 168 km from here.The bodies of 18 victims, including that of six women, have been identified, Additional Divisional Railway Manager Ajay Arora said.
2.Telugus adapt easily in foreign countries: Chandrababu Naidu.: In a meeting with the people of the Telugu community in Zurich on Saturday, the Chief Minister said that Indians and in particular the people of Andhra Pradesh adapt themselves easily wherever they go. He said that he is happy to see a number of Telugus settling in various parts of the world.  He added that there is a need for Telugus to become a powerful community.
3.Why isn’t it possible for us when it is for TN: KVP Ramachandra Rao.Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP, K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao, wrote an open letter to the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, questioning, why we aren’t able to get Special Category Status and other commitments in the AP Reorganisation Act, while the Tamilians had got Jallikattu ordinance, in three days, which they desperately wanted to protect their tradition.
4.AP, TS should be proud of PV, says ex-CJI. Advanced robotics, 3D technology and driver-less cars could emerge as the most integral part of our lives in the very near future, impacting the generation of jobs, said former Chief Justice of India Justice M.N.  Venkatachaliah while addressing the 5th PV Narasimha Rao Memorial Lecture on ‘Civilisation – Culture – Society’ organised by Lok Nayak Foundation in Andhra University on Saturday.
5.Woman, cop washed away at Tatipudi dam. A 34-year-old woman was washed away when water gushed out from the one of the four crest gates of Tatipudi reservoir after the gate was lifted by unidentified persons at Tatipudi under Gantyada mandal in Vizianagaram district on Saturday.A constable of AP Fire Service department B. Simchachalam, 55, was also washed away in the gusting waters when he was searching for the missing woman and a Sub-Inspector of Fire Department Dileep Kumar went missing during the search operations at Sthanavaram area under Jami mandal.  
6.AP govt recommends 22 names for Padma Awards. The AP government has recommended 22 names for Padma awards for this year, which includes aerospace scientist G. Satheesh Reddy, Internationally recognised orthopedic surgeon A.V. Guruva Reddy. State government has sent these names in the month of October 2016 to the centre.The awards will be announced on the eve of Republic Day. For Padma Vibhushan awards state government has recommended Telugu Desam party MP and Telugu film personality Maganti Murali Mohan along with G. Sateesh Reddy and A.V. Guruva Reddy.For Padma Bhushan award AP government has recommended Olympic badminton silver medalist P.V. Sindhu, Shuttler Kidambi Srikanth, Mridangam Player Yella Venkateswara Rao, renowned classical dancer Ananda Shankar Jayant and  C.K. Durga, head of surgery, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Delhi.For the Padma Sri Award, ENT specialist Dr N. Vishnu Swaroop Reddy who heads the ENT unit in Care Hospital, Hyderabad, and Mr Ramanaiah from Nellore district belongs to the handloom field.
