Amid the ongoing violence the TamilNadu government introduced the Jallikattu bill in a special assembly session today. Minutes after the Chief minister Mr. Panneer.O.Selvam had introduced the bill in the house, it was passed unanimously. The protestors were invited to the assembly to witness the passage of the bill.
With the passage of the bill, the bull tamed sport can now
be held officially across the state. A few rules were framed in the bill.
The organizers have to inform the district collector well in advance to conduct the game.
Bulls participating in the game nees to undergo medical check-up
The participants names must be registered with the authorities
Bulls must not be given any kind of drugs before the game
The game should be under the monitoring of medical and police authorities
Bulls with injuries must not be allowed to participate in the game
Separate gallery should be provided with facilities in order to conduct the game
Earlier protests erupted across the state starting of with
Chennai which had been the epicenter. Fresh violence broke out in the sea city.
The mob pelted stones and bottles on vehicles and they also blocked the IT
corridor shouting slogans. The protestors outnumbered the cops. Mean while the
opposition leader Mr. Stalin met the Tamilnadu Governor Mr. CH.Vidya Sagar Rao
and discussed the ongoing situation.
Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu today appealed to those
agitating on the Jallikattu issue to give up their stir as steps have been
taken to address their concerns. On the other hand film stars called for peace
.Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth appealed for peace and requested to stop the violence.
The situation of the Chennai city is
disheartening ,added Rajanikanth.
