1.  World's largest capstone unearthed in Siddipet :  The Telangana archaeology department has discovered theworld's largest capstone from a menhir at Narmeta village of Nangunuru mandal of Siddipet district. Archaeology officials chanced upon the huge stone during the excavation of a menhir.
2.  Clinching proof against IAS officer and son in murder case :  Though IAS officer DVenkateshwar Raoclaimed he was innocent and was 'fixed' for not greasing the palms of the men in khaki, police said they had clinching evidence against him and his son D Venkata Sukruth in the murder of 26-year-old driver B Nagaraju at Yousufguda.
3.  You can enjoy a ride on Metro train by this year-end :  The long-awaited Metro rail will become operational by the end of this year, said municipal administration minister KT Rama Rao.
4.  Villagers pool in to save man in UAE from death :  Eleven-year-old Raju has never seen his father, and may never see him also. Makuri Shankar, 48, left for the UAE when his wife Bhoodevi was pregnant. This was in October 2005. On 10 October 2009, Shankar was jailed for a murder he reportedly didn't commit and was handed the death penalty.
5.  HC to Andhra, Telangana: Why lesson on late PM Narasimha Rao not restored :  Justice A Ramalingeswara Raoof the Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday sought to know from the states of AP and Telangana, their principal secretaries of education, commissioners of school education and the director of state council of education, research and training (SCERT) as to why they have not restored the lesson on the life of former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao in the Hindi textbook of Class VIII.
6.  Secunderabad alternative road: 10 acre defence land proposed :  The Army may have to part with about 10 acres of its prime land for the newly proposed alternativeroad in Secunderabad Cantonment. The alternative road will benefit lakhs of commuters, who will lose access to Army roads once they are closed. The cost of the land could be about Rs 50 crore.

Andhra Pradesh
1.  CM launches distribution of vehicles to SC youth :  Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has formally launched the distribution of 125 Toyota Innova and an equal number of TATA Ace vehicles to the beneficiaries of the Scheduled Castes’ (SCs) Action Plan 2016-17 at the Interim Government Complex at Velagapudi on Wednesday.
2.   BJP thanks voters :  Thanking the voters of the North Andhra graduates’ constituency for casting their vote in favour of BJP-TDP candidate P.V.N. Madhav in the elections to the Legislative Council, BJP State executive committee member Ungarala Chinna Babu on Wednesday said the victory of Mr. Madhav was nothing but the people’s acceptance of the special package offered by the Union government for the development of the State.
3.  Pilgrim beaten by TTD vigilance staff, critical :  pilgrim was admitted to the SVIMS super speciality hospital at Tirupati when he sustained grievous injuries allegedly due to manhandling by the TTD vigilance and SPF personnel. The condition of the pilgrim is reported to be critical.
4.  No public support for TDP, says YSRC leader :   Telugu Desam Party’s rout in the graduate and teachers’ constituencies proved that the ruling party lacked the support of the people, YSR Congress leaders asserted here on Wednesday.
5.  Intellectuals reject Telugu Desam: UTF :  Describing the MLC election results from the graduates and teachers’ constituencies as a ‘slap on the face of the ruling Telugu Desam Party’, the UTF on Wednesday wanted the State government to change its style of functioning and give up its ‘anti-people’ policies.
6.  Foster + Partners submits revised master plan to CM :  London-based Foster + Partners (F+P) presented the revised master plan of the core government buildings in Amaravati titled ‘Amaravati-People’s Capital-Building Sustainable Vision’ to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in the Interim Government Complex (IGC) at Velagapudi in Guntur district on Wednesday.
7.  Limit power tariff hike to 4%: APCCIF :  The Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (APCCIF) has appealed to the A.P. Electricity Regulatory Commission to limit the tariff hike proposed by the DISCOMs to a maximum of 4 % both on demand and energy charges .
8.  Water crisis at our doorstep: Expert :  As per a report of the United Nations, India is heading towards a serious water crisis by 2025. But at the same if from now on water resources are utilised properly, then the country will not have any water problem till at least 2050, said P. Jagadeeswara Rao of the Department of Geo-Engineering, Andhra University College of Engineering.
9.  Vizag district is well placed :  When it comes to the health of groundwater table Visakhapatnam is well placed over the other districts in Rayalaseema region and also over Srikakkulam in the north coastal Andhra.
10.  Madhav wins N. Andhra graduates’ seat :  TDP-backed BJP nominee P.V.N. Madhav won the North Andhra graduates’ constituency in the Legislative Council election defeating A. Aja Sarma of the Progressive Democratic Front. Mr. Madhav got the quota vote of ‘50 per cent of the polled votes plus one’ in the counting of second preference votes during the elimination process.
