Triple Talaq issue among muslim women is generating tremendous heat in the country. While muslim women are revolting against the ageold discriminating practise, many coming out demanding PM Modi and the ruling BJP government abolish the dacronian practise, Muslim Personal law board and religious leaders opposed those who are questioning the talaq practice.
Supreme Court of India already asked the Union Government to findout ways to end the exploitation of women under the garb of religious practices. Many opposition parties opposed Government's move to abolish Talaq practice, while affected muslim women are looking with ray of hope towards PM Modi.
PM Modi speaking for the first time on talaq issue asked those invloved not to politicise the triple talaq issue. He said "There is so much debate on the triple talaq these days. Looking at the great tradition of India, my mind is filled with the hope that powerful people will emerge from the community in this country (to) eradicate outdated practices, evolve modern systems,"
Modi spoke against the triple talaq at the BJP's national executive in Bhubaneswar. UP CM Yogi Adityanath too spoke against the triple talaq issue.
