Sources have made a statement that Jagan Mohan Reddy led YSR Congress Party has currently vowed to stand by BJP in the coming Vice-Presidential elections. Meanwhile, as per an official statement, BJP president Amit Shah has phoned Jagan Reddy on Monday to seek his support for Naidu and the YSRCP chief has readily conveyed his party's complete support to Naidu, who is the union minister for urban development.
According to sources, the announcement of Venkaiah Naidu's name as NDA's Vice-President Nominee followed a wide range of celebrations among Andhra & Telangana BJP leaders. The YSRCP has already agreed to vote for BJP's presidential candidate Ramnath Kovind, who's fighting UPA's Meira Kumari.
Moreover, on another hand, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had also received a phone call from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, soon after Naidu's name was declared as NDA's VP nominee. The TRS supreme has reportedly extended his support to Naidu and will be releasing an official statement at the earliest. Further, it was stated that the Opposition has fielded Gopalakrishna Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, as its Vice-presidential candidate.
