Kirlampudi Sources have stated that even as the Government tried every trick of the trade to suppress the Kapu community's Chalo Amaravati Pada Yatra, the angry Kapu community said the CM was turning East Godavari look like a battle zone in Kashmir valley. According to sources the police behaved in a highhanded manner on several YSRCP leaders belonging to the Kapu community.
Sources have stated that the Party senior leaders Jakkampudi Vijayalakshmi, Kandula Durgesh, Akula Veerraju, Girijala Babu and many other Kapu leaders were kept under house arrest.
Further when strongly condemning the arrest of the YSRCP leader, YSR Congress East Godavari unit President K Kanna Babu said that heavy deployment of police forces and clamping 144 and other sections in Kirlampudi and surrounding areas have made the district look like a battle zone.Moreover he lambasted AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for trying to suppress the Kapu movement using the police.
