About six months back, there was a strong pulse that YSRCP and its founder Y S Jagan look all set to sweep the 2014 elections and Jagan might become the CM for Andhra Pradesh. But the developments that followed later not only brought down that hope but has put the party and its position in a weak spot.

But what happened latest is still indicating that the congress high command is still wary of Jagan’s presence and how he can create that fear factor. This is after looking at the new directive from the Election Commission authorizing by-election to happen for Avanigadda seat due to the demise of TDP leader Brahmanaiah.

Technically, he passed away around the same time when 15 MLAs were disqualified but at that point EC reportedly made it clear that no by-elections can happen because general elections are approaching. But with Avanigadda announcement things have changed. The YSRCP leaders are stating this is only due to the fear that congress has about Jagan and YSRCP sweeping all those 15 seats.
