Sources from Jaggampet have stated that the ruling TDP suffered a jolt in East Godavari district as TDP in-charge of Jaggampeta constituency Jyothula Chantibabu quit the party on Thursday. He resigned from the TDP's primary membership and Yeleru project committee chairman's post. Meanwhile soon after he resigned, a meeting was convened with his party activists and supporters to decide on the future course of action.
Sources have stated that it is learnt that Chantibabu is upset over the way he is being ignored by the TDP leadership. Recently, after his father's death, no TDP leader in the district called him on expressing grief over the loss of his father.
Moreover he was also ignored when AP CM Chandrababu Naidu held a meeting with the TDP leaders after inaugurating the Purushottam Patnam Lift Irrigation works. Furthermore ahead of the Kakinada corporation elections, the ruling party leader's quitting the party is a cause for worry in the TDP camp.
