Kadapa sources have stated that by holding grudge against the superintendent of a Hospital in Proddatur who chided him for dereliction of duties, an orthopedic surgeon tried to inject HIV positive blood to the former on Friday. Sources have stated that the superintendent Dr. Lakshmi Prasad however escaped from the attack and lodged a complaint with the police against the doctor.
Meanwhile according to the police, from past few years, the orthopedic surgeon David Raju had issues with Lakshmi Prasad. In order to settle scores, Raju collected blood from an HIV patient in the hospital and tried to inject it while Prasad was talking with his fellow colleagues. However, the doctor was alerted on time and he managed to escape the attack.
Moreover the other doctors in the hospital
overpowered Raju and informed the police. Incidentally, the district
authorities tried to convince Prasad not to file a complaint as it would damage
the hospital’s reputation. Meanwhile, Dr. Shiva Krishna, the leader of the
hospital staff union staged a protest demanding the arrest of Dr Raju.
