Telangana sources have reported that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has hailed ace Tollywood director SS Rajamouli as a trendsetter. Meanwhile when speaking at the felicitation ceremony where Rajamouli was awarded the Akkineni Nageswara Rao National Award 2017 in recognition of his contribution to the Telugu film industry, KCR praised the director for putting the Telugu cinema on top of the world with Baahubali.
Moreover he assured that the state government would strive for the development of Tollywood. Further recalling the initial days of Tollywood when Akkineni Nageswara Rao moved from Chennai to Hyderabad to set up Annapurna studios, KCR said that Akkineni was the one who laid the foundation for the Telugu film industry in Hyderabad and the rest is history.
CM KCR added that Venkaiah Naidu called Rajamouli a
wonder, who had created another wonder named "Baahubali".
"Rajamouli has put Indian cinema on the international map, and he deserves
to receive the Akkineni National Award”.
