Andhra Pradesh sources have made a statement that there were reports in the media a few days back that S.S. Rajamouli has been asked to design the government buildings in Andhra Pradesh new capital Amaravathi by the chief minister Chandrababu Naidu. Meanwhile it was also said that the CM was not satisfied with the designs given by Foster and Partners.
Sources have stated that however Rajamouli has issued a clarification on the report by stating that "Various news that he was appointed as a consultant, designer, supervisor etc for Amaravathi are not true.., Foster + Partners are a world renowned architectural firm. The designs they submitted were first class in his opinion.
He added that Chandrababu Naidu and his team are very happy with it but he
wanted a design for the assembly to be much more iconic. "All he is doing
is interpreting the vision of Chandrababu Naidu to Foster + Partners to quicken
the process. Hope this small contribution of mine is some kind of help in that
epic project."
