Hyderabad sources have made a statement that Bollywood producer Karim Morani surrendered before the Hayathnagar police station here in the city late on Friday midnight. He surrendered hours after the Supreme Court upheld the Hyderabad High Court's decision to cancel the anticipatory bail granted to him on charges of raping an aspiring actress.
Sources have stated that a case was booked against him in January by a 24 year old woman accusing him of raping her several times in Mumbai and Hyderabad on the pretext of giving her roles in movies. As the police made moves to arrest him, Morani approached courts to secure an anticipatory bail.
Meanwhile however, police filed a counter and his
petitions were dismissed by both the courts he approached. Further Morani
produced noted films like Chennai Express and Dilwale.
He will be produced before the court and was sent in remand on Saturday.
