The 290 Km range BrahMos missile has been successfully test fired from Sukhoi jet and it is now ready for induction. India has successfully flight tested the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from a Sukhoi SU-30MKI fighter jet and the target was fixed somewhere in Bay of Bengal and it was quite a successful test mission.
This was the first test and the first test itself became a successful one. Defence ministery statement reads, "The fastest supersonic cruise missile with a multi-platform, multi-mission role, is now capable of being launched from land, sea and air.
The missile has created history as it was successfully flight-tested for the first time." Union Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also congratulated the DRDO and the Team BrahMos for the success. This is a joint venture between the Defense Research and Development Organisation of India and NPOM of Russia.
