The post of President of India is considered apolitical but on and off there have been instances where presidents indirectly favor some political parties because of the deep roots they share. One such person is President Pranab Mukherjee who is doing a good job as the current President.
But being a grand old man of Congress for most of his life Pranab was the ideal troubleshooter for UPA 1 & 2 governments. He was being considered as a godfather by late YSR and it is being speculated in Delhi’s political circles that Pranab Mukherjee is eager to bring a reproachment.
This is between Congress leadership and Jagan. Pranab Da and is known to be very accessible to YSR’s wife Vijayamma these days and this is how they could secure his appointment very easily whenever they want! If the talks go through and Jagan really obliges then it will be a breakthrough for Congress.
