The 54 year old Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha is very flamboyant and never missed a chance to offer a flying Salute in Rajanikant fashion as in block buster film ‘Narasimha ‘.
He has not even meeting CM Kiran Kumar Reddy ever since the latter taking a strong Seemandhra stand. It is to be seen whether he will attend the cabinet meet scheduled on September 20 mornings at Secretariat, which could perhaps the last cabinet meeting of the United Andhra.
He is very outspoken in his words and has publicly condemned the CM as ‘What could happen if the Commander turns into a conspirator?( when CM turns against Telangana).
In a candid interview to APherald.com the deputy CM who considers himself as the future Congress CM of Telangana says that Telangana state was just three months away –December ,2013 .
APHerald.com: Warm greetings from APherald.com Sir. Tell us without beating bush what is the status on Telangana formation?
Deputy CM : Dear sir, Congress high command and UPA are firm on Telangana .They have not moved an inch away from July 31st announcement .There is no reason to fear that Telangana will be blocked again .
APHerald.com: Approximately what is the time schedule? When it will take shape and whether it will be before the 2014 elections or later?
Deputy CM: You are asking too many questions for a man sitting in Hyderabad. You know very well that Union cabinet is meeting on September 20 evening to approve the Union Home ministry note on Telangana. We have to wait for it to happen. However my gut feeling is that UPA will announce formation of Telangana in December 2013.
APHerald.com: Why are you so bitter about CM Kiran Kumar Reddy? And why the differences are yet unresolved and your were not given due position and respect in the cabinet, though you are the Deputy CM?
Deputy CM: Let us not discuss about what has happened so far. I want to forget it .We Dalits have learnt to suffer and forget, swallow insults and abuses for generations .Some day in near future all of this will end .We are waiting for that day.
APHerald.com: What is your opinion on Hyderabad? Will it be separated etc?
Deputy CM: Hyderabad Hamara Thi, Hai and Rahega (Hyderabad has always been ours, past present ad future). Nobody can take it away from us. I tell you and warn everyone through you that if anyone tries it, they will pay a heavy price.
APHerald.com: It is said that congress president appreciated your presentations on Telangana. What is your game plan?
Deputy CM: Sonia Gandhi ji was highly appreciative of my presentation .She asked so many clarifications and also sought documentations which I sent it separately .Expert opinions of irrigation, linguist and other experts etc .In fact she said ‘Damodar ji you have done a fair and honest study of the situation and Telagnana than our Kiranji ‘.
APHerald.com: what is your opinion on Hyderabad as a joint capital or Union Territory?
Deputy CM: We do not oppose any proposal for joint capital for limited time but not permanently. How can India have its capital in Lahore or Pakistan can have its joint capital at Delhi .Such arrangements will not work and are not feasible? Chandigarh is quoted as an example .May be it worked in 1970’s but in today’s condition even Chandigarh is not feasible.
Besides Hyderabad is the mascot and icon of Telagnana, its culture, ethos, pains, historical blunders, traditions and its delicacies. How can one share his mother or loved ones?
APHerald.com: What will happen if you miss Telagnana again?
Deputy CM: Touch wood l. We will not. But if we missed then it will be terrible for everyone .Already the employees, students and business men are suffering on both sides. It will be a worse situation if the Centre cheats us again.
APHerald.com: How do you rate yourself as a CM candidate in Telangana .There are so many candidates vying for the gaddi both at Delhi and Hyderabad?
Deputy CM: ( laughs) Competition to Narasimha ? .Well I am the only robust candidate who can walk ahead without a stick ( Jaipal Reddy ) or without huffing ( D.Srinivas)..There are some others (Jana Reddy) who are not in my class at all.
APHerald.com: Thank you, Sir .Wish you a great innings in Telangana at the earliest.
Judges Agitation, Boon in Disguise for KCR The ongoing agitations by the Telangana judges who are protesting seriously against the provisional allotments of judges between both Telugu states is being seen as indeed a blessing in disguise for KCR led government in the region.
