The issue of whether CM Kiran Kumar Reddy belonged to Telangana or Seemandhra came up in the state Assembly with Kiran declaring that he was born and brought up in Hyderabad while replying to the speech of CPI floor leader Gunda Mallesh in the ongoing debate on the draft Telangana bill. Mallesh charged that successive governments in AP created a feeling among the Telangana people that they were under foreign rule for which the CM asked the CPI leader to say what his region was whether he was from Telangana or Seemandhra saying he was getting doubt after listening to Mallesh’s argument! Meanwhile the controversy of CM’s nativity spilled over to the Assembly lobby and it was when TRS member Harish Rao went up to the CM and took up the issue for which Kiran said his nativity could not be regionally tagged. Harish reportedly responded saying that change of soil has not changed the traits of the seed hinting that Seemandhra was the core of the CM and declared that though there is fertile soil, it matters what type of seed is there and for Kiran, the seed was Seemandhra!
