After splitting AP into Telangana and Seemandhra , Congress president Sonia Gandhi has also divided the congress party in state into Telangana PCC and Seemandhra PCC,
BC leader N Raghuveera Reddy has been finally chosen as the president of the Seemandhra Pradesh congress committee.
She also selected former IT and C minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah from Warangal as the Telangana Pradesh congress committee president with another minister Uttam Kumar Reddy ( former ADC of Rashtrapathi Zail Singh) as working president . She also set up a 28 member committee with ex deputy CM Damodar Rajnarasimha as chairman of campaign committee .
Sonia Gandhi personally called Raghuveera Reddy and congratulated him but asked him bring back all those who had left the party in a huff. to who hailed from Madakashira in Anantapur district Raghuveera Reddy was controversial for his 'cloud seeding' project but otherwise had veered out of any other issues.
Along with Raghuveera Congress president has set up a 21 member committee with Union minister Chiranjeevi as Chairman of election campaign, Anam Ramnarayan Reddy as chairman of the manifesto committee.
