A leading national daily with highest circulation latest in AP has mentioned that a resurgent Chandrababu Naidu may be giving Jagan a run for his money in the Rayalaseema as TDP netted top Reddy leaders. In the 2009 polls, the TDP only won 17 of the 52 Assembly seats in Rayalaseema districts, the bulk of it coming from Naidu's native district of Chittoor district while YSR wave was seen in Kurnool, Anantapur and Kadapa. In the recent weeks, the bandwagon of Reddy leaders who joined the TDP after quitting the Congress said that they will ensure the victory of the Telugu Desam in at least 28 of the 38 seats in the three districts even as TDP is not expected to retain the six seats in Chittoor but also bag six more seats. Sources say the TDP is confident of winning at least a minimum of 40 of the 52 seats in Rayalaseema. If the TDP manages to win the bulk of these seats in Rayalaseema, it will certainly jeopardize Jagan's bid to become CM.
