A 55-year-old woman was throttled to death, allegedly by her own son, over property dispute at Moinabad late on Friday night. Moinabad inspector S Ravichandra said that Anjamma,53, was found dead in her bedroom. During investigation, police suspected the role of her son Srisailam and daughter-in-law Madhavi. Police said that Srisailam, who works as house keeper at Banjara Hills, has debts to the tune of Rs 11 lakhs. So, Srisailam and his wife were putting pressure on Anjamma to sell her two-acre farm land to clear their debts. However, Anjamma was averse to this proposal. "Through locals, we came to know about the tiff over the farm land. We are still investigating the case to know the facts,'' the Inspector said. Srisailam has been taken into police custody. In another incident in the Market police station limits, a double murder took place and both the victims were attacked with blunt objects. Market police said that one of the victims has been identified as Srinivas,32, while the other's identity was yet to be established. Police said that Srinivas was murdered on the rearside of passport office, while the body of the second person was found on the lane near passport office which leads to Kingsway. Srinivas was a native of Badrachalam and used to do odd jobs.
