After all the speculations about Jai Samaikyandhra party being merged into Congress, the party chief rejected them all and has announced his candidates. The party chief, Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy has been quite confident about the win in the elections. He was more keen about getting more votes than actually winning to form a government. The leaders of the Jai Samaikhyandhra Party, the party recently launched by former chief minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy in Srikakulam are planning to strengthen the party by getting as many votes as possible in the elections. The JSP has announced its candidates in five Assembly segments out of 10 in the district. Dr Kanithi Viswanatham, Korla Bharathi, Dr Ponnada Jogi Naidu, Amudalavalasa Pdi Stsyaprasad and S. Praveena have been named. The candidates are campaigning and the main issue raised by them is the division of Andhra Pradesh. They are trying to explain to people the implications of the division, particularly, how the educated youth would be affected. To build up a strong cadre-base and secure the maximum number of votes, JSP district in-charge S. Jagan has been collecting details and background information of all professionals and senior leaders in the district. Mr Jagan is a close friend of N. Santosh Reddy, the brother of JSP president N. Kiran Kumar Reddy. He has also been holding discussions with APNGO leaders, advocates and other joint action committees. The JSP wants to tell the youth that it will create more employment opportunities. In Srikakulam, out of total 19,60,983 voters, about 7 lakh voters are people below the age of 35 years.
