The TDP declared its CM candidate in Telangana region , R. Krishnaiah as its BC-candidate. Krishnaiah, a backward class leader who joined the TDP recently, is contesting for the assembly from L.B. Nagar constituency in Hyderabad. Telugu Desam Party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu announced Krishnaiah's candidature while addressing an election meeting at Bellampally in Adilabad district. The party had promised that if voted to power in Telangana it would make a leader from backward classes the Chief Minister. Naidu is eyeing the chief minister's post in Seemandhra. Both Telangana and Seemandhra will come into being as separate states June 2. The TDP is contesting the simultaneous elections to the Andhra Pradesh assembly and Lok Sabha in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party. The regional partner has left 47 of the 119 assembly seats in Telangana for the BJP. The national party is also contesting eight of the 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana which is going to the polls April 30. In Seemandhra, where elections are scheduled May 7, the TDP has allotted 13 assembly and four Lok Sabha seats to the BJP. Seemandhra has 175 assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats. So this states that TDP has been on its word of making a BC as CM candidate in Telangana region.
