We saw hereditary politics in many cases in the state. But it is complete different political situation that happened in Ananthapur district. Two members of the same family are elected for the legislative bodies from same district. We have two families in this regard from Ananthapur district. JC Diwakar Reddy and Samanthakamani Families have rare achievement in this general election.
Members of these two families are elected from TDP for different positions. JC Diwakar Reddy was elected to the Assembly from Tadipatri 6 times in a row as Congress candidate, this time he elected to the Parliament from Ananthapur Segment as TDP candidate. JC Prabhakar Reddy role hasn’t ruled out in all victories of JC Diwakar Reddy. Prabhakar Reddy too contested and was lost the election from Hindupur Assembly Segment as Congress candidate in 1994 against Legend NTR. Prabhakar Reddy has contested in this election from Tadipatri as TDP candidate and won with huge majority. Now both brothers are representing to Assembly and Parliament in Ananthapur district.
Samanthakamani TDP leader from Singanamala segment in the district is elected for MLC from the party. But Samanthakamani is seeking to contest for Assembly from Singanamala (Reserved) segment. TDP has offered this ticket to Samanthakamani daughter Yamini Bala in this election. Yamini Bala won this segment over YSRCP rival with thin majority. Both mother and daughter have represented to Council and Assembly from TDP.
