The High Court of Andhrapradesh is directed the telangana state Multiple System Operators (MSOs) to file their counter towards the petition filed in to order for a revoke of the stopped transmissions of ABN-Andhrajyothi television channel across the state of Telangana. As aware, two popular TV channels namely TV9 and ABN-Andhrajyothi transmissions have been banned from transmission by the MSOs across Telangana state recently. There was a petition filed at the High court by ABN’s Channel Associate Editor Murthy requesting for revoking the transmission of their channel in the ten districts of Telangana with immediate effect as that is affecting the channel’s financial status. He stated in his petition that this blocking by the MSOs is against to the right of expression and speech provided by the Indian constitution. Reacting on this petition, High Court justice, Vilas V Afzal Purkar has asked the Telangana MSOs to file their counterpart in regards with this petition. He is ordered them to explain as to why they have blocked the transmission of the channel. He is also ordered the Telangana state Government to respond as to their actions towards the orders of the Central Government to revoke the transmissions. The MSOs were given time till the 15th to file the counter and that would be the next day of hearing.
