Finally, YSRCP felt great sigh of relief. Party won second ZP Chairman (Nellore) through lucky dip. Nellore Collector was organized election for its ZP Chairman after postponement of the election twice. Both YSRCP and TDP have struggled to run parallel camps to protect ZPTCs since last two months. YSRCP has clear cut majority to win ZP but 8 of its MPTCs joined in TDP that forces the election into high political drama.
Both have been having 23 ZPTCs each. Collector was conducted the ZP Chairman election amid of tight security. Both parties won Co-option members one each through lottery. It’s necessary for Collector to held election through lottery. YSRCP candidate Bommireddy Raghavendra Reddy won the Chairman through the lottery. Vice Chairman also goes towards YSRCP in lucky draw.
YSRCP sure to win Four ZPs (Kurnool, Prakasam, Nellore and Kadapa) after the results came out. Party lost Kurnool ZP to TDP after 6 YSRCP members joined in TDP. YSRCP fight till last minute for Prakasam. YSRCP gave its support to TDP rebel after realizing that inability to win the ZP. So party has concentrated on Nellore and got the success. Finally, YSRCP satisfied with 2 ZPs instead of 4 ZPs. Lottery played important role in Nellore Victory.
