The Cabinet sub-committee of Andhra Pradesh on land pooling on Friday has reportedly dropped enough hints that government is looking forward for developing a riverfront capital city, while excluding the choice of Nuzvid area, saying that the steep forest area is unsuitable for developing the capital. The AP Government is reportedly planning to acquire one lakh acre to build the most beautiful capital city in India falling under the jurisdiction of Vijayawada, Guntur, Tenali and Mangalagiri Urban Development Authority. The AP government will be reportedly spend Rs 1 crore for the development of each acre of land with a perfectly planned drainage system, roads and parks among other key infrastructure. Over 20 lakh acre land is the area between VGTMUDA area out of which close to 6.50 lakh acre is within the planned 184-km Outer Ring Road. The main proposal is that the TDP government is considering paying rent of Rs 25,000 per acre per annum with 5 per cent additional enhancement per annum for at least 10 years till they get their share of developed land.
